Lack of xvid && divx codec in compression menu

Post by mhzmark »

Hello - I have installed:
Unlead VideoStudio SE DVD 10.

Then I downloaded and installed divx and xvid codecs.

But I can't to find in my menu these codecs:

So, what should I do to find these codecs in my menu ?

Welcome to the forums,

I'm not sure it has to do with you having an SE version. I just checked my full version of VS10+ and find that the DivX codec I have installed and shows in VS11+, does not show in VS10+. I'm running Vista HP too.

This could be that I installed DivX Pro after installing VS10+, in which case VS would not have picked up the DivX codec. You might try reinstalling VS10 and see if it then appears in your choices...

I tried reinstall Unlead Video Studio and the problem still occurs.

I checked Divx Converter program and it works properly.
I also installed VirtualDub and in that program there is posibility of choosing Divx codec - so now I am sure that my codecs work properly.

So maybe you are right and my version Unlead Studio does not support using divx codec :-(

Sorry I don't have my install discs with me to see if reinstalling the full version will pickup the DivX Codec. I do know on my XP machine (at home) VS10+ does see the DivX codec, as I've used it on occasion.

I downloaded trial version of Unlead VideoStudio 11 Plus and there is possibility of using DivX codec - so I am sure that it is a problem related to version of my software.

Thank You for your help.

I have both XVid and DivX 6.8 (and preceding versions going back to v. 5) on my computer and both show up in VS11.5+. However, I think I had to reboot the computer at least once before the DivX one appeared in VS11.5+. I can't recall if it was the same with XVid, but it may have been. So I suppose the next question is: have you rebooted you computer since installing the codecs?
