When capturing video with videostudio 11.5 in NTSC DVD format the problem shows up when playing back, it runs too fast, by this I mean the time counter runs faster than it should. audio and video are synch. the only way I can get a good capture is customize at 640x480 resolution and 6000kbps max bit rate.

I have two hard drives besides the HD where windows system resides wich is maxtor 60gb at 4200 RPM. One is PATA samsung sv200h 20gb at 4200 RPM, and the other is SATA WD 160gb at 7200 RPM.

The page file is set to twice my RAM, write caching is disabled for PATA drive; and SATA drive doesn't show how to disable/enable write caching on disk.

Could it be the IDE or SATA drivers from VIA caussing this issue? Should I go back to windows generic drivers for this IDE chanels?

What are you capturing from, and how is it connected? What are the properties of the capture clip?

I have an analog Avertv tunner card (WDM 878 drivers) discontinued alright since 2005yr, and I try to capture some tv program in NTSC DVD format (720x480 mpeg2 upper field first VBR 9000kbps=> default).

I must say this only happens with VS and I have also instaled DVD-MF6 and actually record tv streaming with ulead DVD disk recorder 2.3 without problems (NTSC-DVD 720x480 mpeg2 7.2mbps upper field first).

Additionally, native AverTv program works fine for what is pretended to be used: watch TV, but if I try to capture video I can only get good quality up to SVCD standard; but this is ok since i use DVD-disk recorder in order to do that.

I just wold like to capture this way with VS because of its versatility.
