About deinterlacing

One more question about deinterlacing.
Using videostudio, (of course) still have this doubt only when converting a video that will not sufer changes on resolution size.

I have read divx guide, and it explains that if you were to resize using extern filters, then you should also deinterlace in the same extern filter (i.e. videostudio "general" tab). But it doesn't mention about using extern filters but no resizing at all. Should videostudio general tab be set to deinterlace anyway, regardless of the divx codec configuration?

First setup your VS Project Properties:

NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 1440 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(MPEG-2), 16:9
Video data rate: Constant 25000 kbps
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo
------------------------------------------------
--------------------------- CREATE DIVX FILE -----------------
A) Select SHARE -> Create Video File -> Custom and select "Save As Type"= Microsoft AVI files (*.avi)
B) Select Options
Ulead VideoStudio TAB:
---- Leave Smart Render and Non-Square Pixel Rendering checked ON.
General Tab:
----Audio & Video: Upper_Field, Width:1440, Height: 1080, Aspect Ratio 16:9 Framerate (same as source)
AVI Tab:
Compression (drop down box) Select DIVX 6.4 codec
----- Audio Tab: Format = MPEG Audio Layer 3
----- Audio Tab Attributes = 320kbps CBR Stereo (you can use lower bit rates here such as 128kbs stereo)
----- Data Type = 24Bit RGB

Click on the Configure Tab and this brings up the Divx Encoder settings:
Divx Encoder Main Tab:
---- Certification Profile = 1080HD Mode
---- Rate Control = 1 pass, BitRate = 6000 - 8000
Divx Encoder Codec Tab:
---- Use Defaults
Divx Encoder Video Tab:
------------ Use all Defaults except
------------ Interlace = De-Interlace source (for playback on your computer)
------------ Interlace = Preserve Interlace (Top Field First) for playback on HD-Divx Certified Player)

Click OK - Exit the Divx Encoder
Assign a filename and click on Save
I just found my answer.
