Video Capture Error

Post by robgmiller »

Trying to move a video from a Canon Optura Xi Camcorder via S-video cable connected to WinTv-PVR 250 Capture card mounted on a PIII-733 with 256megs of RAM.

I've selected SVCD but VCD and DVD give the same error.

I've selected an existing folder on an NTSC drive with 20 Gigs of space.

I can see the video being streamed in the Video Capture window view screen. When I click on Capture Video it returns the following error message.

Capture Failed.
The created file is corrupt or unusable.
It will be automatically deleted.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

First, you have a rather underpowered computer to handle the capture. A PIII with only 256 MB of ram may not be enough to do the job. Check the requirements of the program again.

The Hauppauge WinTV-PVR250 card required PII733

The Ulead MovieFactory program requires PIII-800 with 125Megs RAM.

The software came with the Video Capture Card and of course I went with what was printed on the box the Card came in.

Do you know of any other software that requires less CPU power.
