Hello, newb to the forum here, hope someone can help
VS11+ with all updates & patches done,

When I try to preview DVD files I get this error message;

Importing DVD preview play video action failed.
Report ID: 0x8004095c(2396)

tried all of the fixes posted on the forum to no avail, I can import but I can't preview,

It was working fine last time I used it about 4 weeks ago, have uninstalled Nero and Burn my files just in case they were causing a problem, as they are the only programs that I have installed lately. uninstalled VS 11+ followed the instructions for clearing out the remaining files and registry then reinstalled, still can't preview dvd, not copyright protected as its a dvd I produced myself with VS 11+. Also done firmware updates. Also have done the copy and paisted the vob and audio files to my hard drive ok, but still wont let me preview play when importing, running windows XP home, all up to date inc directX, can anyone help???

If it was working 4 weeks ago you might be lucky and be able to use
System Restore

Can you confirm that the preview you are talking about is in the dialogue box which comes up when you select Insert DVD/DVD-VR... Where there is a small preview screen. Snce you say you can import successfully, I am assuming you are ticking the little boxes to the left of the 'chapters' that appear in the directory tree in that box...

yes, thats right, when I click on one of the chapters I get the message:

Importing DVD preview play video action failed.
Report ID: 0x8004095c(2396)

when I close that message box the chapter is ticked and I can import, just not preview, all I can think of is it has something to do with service pack 3 as thats the only other instal that I have done recently.

FIXED IT
