In MS Word do you have anything special set for your text, like Headings or maybe some difficult fonts, or colors? In MS Word did you set your alignment to Center align, and also did you make sure you're using a smaller font size?

Those are somethings that should make it a little easier for VS to handle, using a simple font-type like arial, not using a Header or any special settings, and not using color text. Since you're wanting a scrolling text, this is better achieved in VS with Center-aligned text, so set it that way in your word document.

I just managed to do this using Open Office's Writer (same was MS Word). I copied an entire page. It did not freeze VS, and I was able to use the scrolling effect. Also in VS you need to use the Single Title not the Multiple title. Depending on how much text you have, you need the title duration for at least 30 secs...

Ken -- can we assume that you used the keyboard to do the paste (Ctrl+V)? I just tried it with some random text taken from Word file, and it worked fine.

You might try copying to Notepad first.

When you copy from Word, you get the font information (and other formatting information) and some special non-ASCII (non standard) characters, and that might be the cause of the problem. For example, when you put something in quotes, the opening and closing quotes are mirror images, and when you type "...", the three periods are replaced by a single special-character. These characters are non-standard.

Notepad will display any non-ASCII characters, as boxes. Delete all of those boxes and clean-up anything else that "looks funny". Then copy from notepad to Video Studio. Hopefully, that will work.

Like DVDDoug I prefer to use notepad, no problems with special formats etc.

Well the only way to paste is using the keyboard shortcut of CTL+V. There is no right-click menu option of paste in the Title step..
