Post by zdriver »

I download the 15 day trial to see if I like the software. I have enjoyed it put to the part where I am having trouble with open it after saving it. I took a simple logo a made. I got it to rotate like I wanted. Saved file with no problem, but when I want to open it does it have to open up in the same software ( ULEAD Cool 3d ). I would like to send it in a email to show a friend what I done

Welcome to the forums,

When you saved it, did you just save the project? If so, that's why when you click on the file, it opens Cool3D, it's still just a project, not a 3D image or animated image/video.

You need to create an animated GIF , video, or SWF. This is found in the File Menu. Since you're wanting to send it in an email, I would recommend creating an animated GIF. I have it's big brother Cool3D Production Studio, and I think the menu choices are similar. You would go to the File menu and select Create animation file>Animated GIF.

To create an animated GIF file directly from C3DPS
File: Create Animation File - Animated GIF File.

Please view page 91 of the User manual.

Just to clarify, you are using Cool3D trial version and not Cool3D Production Studio, correct?

For Cool3D to create an animated GIF, you go to File menu>Create Video File>Animated GIF.

Also the links to the manuals provided by Steve are no longer active. Seems that Ulead no longer allows FTP download on those servers. You can still obtain a manual at the following link:

I think that the OP is not using Cool3D PS. He's using the trial version of Cool3D, which would be 3.0 or possibly 3.5. Since his trial version only runs 15 days it would not be the P.S. version, as the trial period for that is 30 days...;) They don't have the same menu structures. The link found HERE does not work..

This is strange, because when I first posted about the dead link, I kept getting the Error...not logged in, which is generally the case when the FTP links have expired..

Works now though..

Perhaps their site was down.
I was a bit worried that all my links needed fixing, at least everything is OK now.
