Can you tell us where you were using this 'autochapter' feature? Was it in the Editor where you were adding Chapter markers? Have you installed the 6 November 2007 update patch to VS?
If you were trying to add chapters in the burning module, were you trying to add chapters based on a set time (e.g. every 3 minutes) or by scene detection?
In that case, go to the Microsoft DirectX website and download the latest update patch. The current one is dated June 2008 and can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
Note that it updates both DirectX 9.0c (XP) and 10 (Vista). The number of your DirectX installation will not change, but the patch gives extra functionality in a number of areas and corrects other faults in VS11 in particular which appear linked to Windows updates. Problems in the menu area seem to be amongst them.
Note that DirectX is not included in the usual pattern of Windows automatic updates. It has to be done every so often by the user manually. So unless you have recently done this, you are probably still using the original, non-updated version of DirectX which came with your computer.

Hi everyone and Ken
I been using ULead 10 and 11.5 now for about 2 years. I saw this post and it relates to some what of my situation. I think my upgrade screwed up my authoring a bit.
My add/edit chapters wasnt recognizable when I tried to create my DVD.
I'm trying to make a DVD when I clicked on auto add it crashed.
I added chapters at the begining of my clips but they werent able to be seen by ulead. Ugh.
I downloaded from the above link from thsi post and it works somewhat. I think
I used the rollbar and was able now to pick where I wanted my chapters to be seen. Should I be able to go right in and add the chapters by the chapter marks? aka yellow triangles? To make it easy? It seems if I do auto add it grabs every clip as a chapter.
I placed a yellow chapter mark at each clip so I should have 15 chapters. This is for a dance recital.
I hope I explained this as best as possible. Any info or suggestions would be apperciated.
ULEAD rocks for a small end video edit program BTW.
Peace
Brian

You will need to explain a little more about your work flow. You mention using the little yellow triangles so this tells me you are manually adding chapter points whilst editing on the video editor time line. what is not clear is how you are progressing from the editing stage to the authoring stage.
When you have finished all of your editing you should then click the [SHARE] tab and select [create video] and now render a video either using one of the preset settings NTSC DVD or PAL DVD (depending upon your region), or if you are comfortable doing so, then work out the optimum bit rate settings and use a custom setting of MPEG2 so that you get the best settings in relation to the duration of the video. Those small yellow triangular chapter points should be encoded in that MPEG2 video file.
Now clear the time line by starting a new project. Goto the Share Tab and select [Create Disc]. Now import that newly created MPEG2 video file from above. When you then go to [Add/Edit Chapters] VideoStudio should find where you had previously placed those small yellow triangles.
An alternative method is to not set any Chapter points whilst editing the video. You should still create a new MPEG2 video as mentioned above, start a new project and select the share tab, then import that video. Obviously this video has no pre-defined chapters - however you can now add them when you select [Add/Edit Chapters] using one or more of the following:
1. Auto Detect Chapters by scene change information.
2. Set Chapters at fixed intervals - such as every 3 minutes.
3. Manually add chapters by browsing through the video.

Thanks to you people who always help here!!!!!!!!
I hope that works for me too. I didn't have any problems with Video studio 9 and we had a great relationship but I had to move on to 11plus and now the troubles with the chapters.
Sooooo frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!
