slow down and run time error with MSP8

Post by DAAdood »

hello there to whom may able to answer this for me

I have consulting you guys about first the compability of MSP8 with Vista and so on. Then someone here advise me to go for Sony. Then someone else no name mention did not like for me to ask questions about Sony since the sudgestion came from this forum, but anyway. I have tested and experimenting with Sony and vs MSP8 which I am sure most of you guys have already done that. Then I compared Sony quality and compability that has to do with format. Sony seems to read the m2t format that MSP8 captured it. Althoug I had better results with Sony
captureing in quality than with MSP8 and not really. But now i am curious about the famous Video Studio 11.5 plus and especially when corel is offering it for free. ( that if only they do what they say they will do.) Althou I have read already that some of you guys already requested and had some answer from Corel. THAT is NIce. Well, anyway.

I have a Pentium dual core e3300 i believe with plenty of harddrive space and 4 gig of Ram and a video card 88gts with 640 ram in it.

First I am editing about 4 hours of tape video in HD the problem is that when I have hardly 26 minutes of video edited it takes over two hours just to create the video. IS THAT NORMAL?

Since I am curious about Video Studio 11.5 it does not seem to recognize the m2t format, but I understand that in order for to work i would need the patch which probably work only on the retail version. RIGHT?

I have come to realize that I really need three tracks which is limited to do things. How many does video studio 11.5 plus alouds you to work with.
and is it possible to overlay just like MSP8 video from other sourse video.
ie my logo and title created with Cool 3D software.

For now that is all I have in my mind please someone reply Thank you

What brand and model video camera do you have? I ask because .m2t files are usually transport stream high definition mpeg-2 from a HDV format camera. On the other hand, high definition AVCHD cameras produce an .m2ts video which is mpeg-4.

And if indeed you have a HDV camera, then Video Studio has been able to handle that format since VS10, and certainly does so as far as I am aware with VS11/11.5+ without any patch being necessary. It certainly works on my own version of VS10 and also now on my VS11.5+. The trial version you are using is VS11+, and again as far as I am aware, that does not require any patch to play and edit .m2t files. And your computer is certainly powerful enough to edit them.

As for the rendering time, over 2 hours to produce a 26 minute video sounds about right to me. On my Core 2 Quad, it takes usually up to 4 times real time, so for me a 30 minute video would take around 2 hours to render.

VS11+/11.5+ has 6 overlay tracks in addition to the main timeline and title tracks. And yes you can overlay other video in those tracks and apply the chroma key to get them to appear as an overlay in the main track.

DAAdood sent me a private message in the following terms. I reminded him of Forum policy of not contacting Moderators via email or private message on questions relating to Corel/Ulead products, but instead to post them here. He has now opened a new thread on the same subject so I will consolidate them here. This was his message to me:
hi
I do have a Sony Fx7 HD camcorder.

thank you for replying so promptly.
As I went out to get more footage of a ship that I cruise 3 weeks ago, I let the computer on to render the file to mpg. Guess what is the third time that tells me that it failed to ope mpeg. Now I am refering to the MSP8 retail . I does wonder with DV format avi. But this is the first time I am experimenting with HD and is not resulting . I am trying to create the video in HD so I can have it already title and all back on the camera since I dont think I am ready yet for a Blu Ray burner at least I have no idea how to beggin.
I can tell you that it will render up to perhaps1 minute with no problem which the way I started but now that I have completed the first part to render at least 24 minutes it wont work.

am I doing something wrong or could the harddrive is slowing me down I dont know.

And this is what he posted in the new thread:
hi everyone

I completly forgot what I wrote to Ken , but anyway
Now I manage to create the video in m2t format video Studio reads it fine
then I tried to put to piece of render video into video Studio 11.5 and half way the program gave me a fatal error.

So far MSP8 is creating a video once more a little long like 24 minutes but I dont know what is going to happened.

please does anyone else have any sudgestion other than Kens.
