How can I save the settings of an effect filter, so i can simply apply the same effect with the same settings to another clip.

Sorry, that can't be done. We've asked for that to be added to future versions. Time will tell if v12 has that.

Hi

Well as Jeff said You Can¡¦t save a filter.

But you can apply the same video filter effect with the same settings to another clip, it¡¦s a bit contrived. A bit of a work-round.

First you have to create a sample video just a second long will do.
Add a video filter, customise the filter.
Drag the clip to the library

Right click and copy, paste to the library making another copy.

Select one of the copies.
File Re-link
Re-link to your clip on the hard drive. ( it has to be the same type ie video file, and has to be longer than the source file)
With the clip selected in the library, navigate to the last frame ( controls under preview screen)
Press F4 or the Mark ¡V Out ] symbol. ( this completes the clip)

Drag the clip to the timeline.

Unfortunately you can only apply to a full clip, A clip on the hard drive.

Well I said it was a bit contrived.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. Trevor that trick works very well! Too bad there is no build in option for this. Hopefully in VS12! 8)
