Does anyone know if there is a product that can produce a slideshow DVD in 1280x720 resolution for HDTV? I'm not satisfied with the reduced picture quality of a slideshow rendered in 720x480 NTSC format when played back on a hi-def monitor.

720x480 is the best current DVD technology can do. Either HD DVD or Blu-Ray will be able to do higher resolution. It'll be at least a year or two before those are avaliable. http://www.dvdtown.com/hddvd/
