Ripple editing and transitions

I have VideoStudio 11Plus running under Windows XP/SP2 HE.
My current project is a slide show in which the images are separated by titles displaying months of the year. I construct the 12 titles, enable title ripple editing and then insert the images in their appropriate positions. At this stage all is well; the titles ripple across. I then apply a transition to the whole project. At this stage ripple editing fails and all the titles (except the first) move to the right. It is then necessary to manually drag each title back to its correct position.
I presume that I am making a mistake somewhere, but I can't see what it is. I would be grateful if you could explain how to get the ripple editing to work properly when transitions are used.

Thanks for the reply. However, I have carefully read though the link and it does not seem to address my particular problem, namely transitions interfering with ripple editing.
As I mentioned, I found that when I enabled ripple editing for the Title Track it worked perfectly when I simply added images between my titles - the titles moved exactly as described in your link. However, when I added transitions to the project, ripple editing was crippled and the titles slid to the right of their proper positions.
Purely a guess on my part, but could this have anything to do with the fact (which was once explained to me on this forum) that transitions involve adjacent images overlapping each other? In other words, does ripple editing not see this overlap and believes that the titles should still be in their non-overlapped positions, which would result in them moving to the right? If not, I'm at a loss to understand what is going on.

You have probably answered your own query.
As you can see from the link I gave I made extensive tests of the ripple editing function but I admit I didn't go as far as trying out transitions.
I am a bit busy at the moment with a large MediaStudio Project, perhaps you can do a few more tests and let us have your results.

I suppose it also underlines the wisdom of inserting transitions at a very early part of a project, rather than doing it as one of the last steps...

Yes as Steve stated you have answered your own question. Transitions borrow the time ½ from each adjacent clip. So Ripple editing does not see any time change.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I'll have to live with it.
I take the point about putting in transitions early. However, in this particular case I had lots of photos sorted into separate folders for each month. It's easier to put the titles in first and then insert the photos from each folder rather than put all the photos in then have to find the monthly divisions and add the titles. Plus, even if you did the transitions first, then if you needed to add something else later on you'd still have the slippage problem.
I'm a little surprised that VideoStudio can't handle this particular combination. Not that I have any figures to support it, but I'd have thought that many projects would use both titles and transitions.
