Loading custom brushes

Post by bookaddict »

I have PSPX2 and am trying to load some custom brushes. Every time I try I get an internal error message.

I have Vista if that makes a difference.

Hiya,

Hehe, don't you just love useful error messages like that? "Error: something broke!". Great ;-)

Is there anything special about the brush files you're trying to import - eg. are they ".PspBrush" files from PSP or ".abr" files from PhotoShop?

No they're PSP brushes, .jbr files. I did file - import - custom brushes and selected the brush. When I click add, that's when I get the error message...

Darn. If you've still got an old PSP version around (8 or earlier), you could load the custom brushes there (which ought to work, .jbr being the format those versions specifically wanted) and then save each brush as an image. If you can get the brushes into a little image each on their own, you could just load the images up in PSPX1-2 and do File->Export->Custom Brush on it.
