Unable to load an existing Project?

Post by WaveHunter »

Hi Folks

I am using Video Studio 10. Ive been working on a new project for the last few weeks and all of a sudden I cant open the project. Ive tried open others and they are fine but this particular project loads to 99% and then just stops and Video Studio crashes! :(

I have spent a good amount of time on it and was really pleased with it so far! Is the file corrupt do you think? Is there anyway of recovering it? The file is stored on an external hard drive along with all my other projects that still load fine.

Any help would be greatfuly received as I really do not want to have to start again!

Thanks

Yes, it sounds as though the file has become corrupt. I'm sorry to say that I don't think it is recoverable.

FWIW you may want to change the way you save your projects. After you have worked on it for a while save it as, for example Vacation A. After some more edits save it is Vacation B, and so on. Then, if you should face a similar problem you can fall back on a previously saved project. It will not have all your edits, but it beats starting from scratch.

It could also be that one of the video clips is corrupt. You could try this. Store the clips temporarily in another map and see if the project will load.
