any way to run VS10 in 800x600 resolution?

Is there any way to run VS10 in 800x600 resolution? My 40 inch lcd monitor is blurry at any resolution above 800x600, plus it's easier on my old eyes to work at that resolution. Have tried all refresh rates at higher resolutions but a blurred screen is all i get. Sure wish ULead made the program to work at 800x600 in the first place.

Sadly no there is not. VS requires a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768.

One thing i discovered is that i ran an older computer into the 40 inch lcd monitor, and the view is sharp at resolutions higher than 800x600. Perhaps if i can get the video card on the newer computer to accept a driver from an older card, the situation might be resolved.

Erm.... no computers don't work like that.
A piece of hardware - such as a video card, sound card, printer, mouse, keyboard - anything you can spill coffee over - needs a driver.

Each item of hardware needs a specific driver for that particular item:
A Geoforce Video Card will need a Geoforce Driver
A Radeon video Card will need a Radeon Driver

Not just the make but the model is important also
A NVidia GeForce 6600GT will need a NVidia GeForce 6600GT driver
not a driver for a Geoforce 4.

You might find it worthwhile getting a new Video Card, They can be reasonably cheap unless you are a "Serious Gamer" in which you could pay lots for a "bees knees" state of the art system.

If you decide to upgrade then it might be worthwhile taking your old video card along to the computer store to make sure you get the right replacement as there are various types which are mainly
PCI
PCIe
AGP

Actually there have been cases where i did run a given video card off of another video card's driver. The hardware must have been similar enough to allow that.
I did discover why the lcd monitor appeared sharp at all resolutions off the older computer. The older computer ran into the monitor on a single short cable. The newer computer was running into it off a vga-splitter which had an extension cable on one of the two cables. That extension cable was not connected to any monitor, but it still was the culprit in the ghosting on the lcd monitor. Was it acting as an antenna attracting RF interference, or maybe affecting impedence? Either way, i'm glad it's resolved but i still wish ULead allowed VS10 and beyond to work in 800x600 resolution.

Haven't tried it myself but perhaps this will work - available in XP and Vista

I didn't even know Windows had a magnifier until recently. That might help some. Increasing the system font size helps in some windows but not in others. At what point did VideoStudio go to 1024x768? I know i was running VS6 in 800x600.

I think it was VS8. I started with VS5, skipped 6 & 7 then picked up with 8.

Nope. It was VS7. Squirrel that I am, I happen to have the VS7 original box I bought -- the first Ulead product I had ever used -- and it required a display of at least 1024 x 768.

I started with VS2, then jumped to VS6, then to VS10. If the pattern holds, i'll use VS14 one day, but i doubt i'll go beyond VS10. By then the minimum resolution might be 1600x1200. 8O
