MSP8 Moving path with transition : shift of images

Post by coisy »

Hello,
I've to make a video with images and movies with different formats. So I used the moving path 2D mainly to resize images (automatically applied when you import image in project tray with keeping aspect ratio) and also 2D advanced to turn 90¢X video taken in bad position.
Sometimes just before the transition or just after the image or video is shifted on left or right with not good size.
I don't understand why it's not all the time, and what are the conditions to have this issue, it just seems be more frequent with vertical images and movies with part of image outside the "visible" screen.
For 2D I tried to replace with Video Filter Pan & Zoom... it works sometimes but not all the time... or move the issue.
Example : 2D image + transition + 2D image = issue with shift after transition, 2D image + transition + Pan & zoom = issue with shift before transition.
Does somebody have same issue, do you any solution or suggestion ?
Thanks in advance.

I have noticed this before too. Try rendering a section of video with the shifting problem and see if it is in the finished product.
It might have something to do with field order, so you could try changing that for the clip in question too.

I'm only guessing here, but could it make a difference whether you apply the transition before or after the MP?

As Troppo says, Either of the rapid previews are only approximate: have you tried it with the full preview?

Thanks for your help, I will try different field order and tell you the result (I'm currently working I will try just after).

Unfortunately the shift stays in full preview (the one displayed by MSP after creation and also when I display video by another tool).
It's not always visible with the fast preview.

The problem seems occur indenpendently if MP is on clip before or after transition... or both.

I tried... and I failed !... changing frame order has no effect, but changing several parameters and come back to initial parameters sometimes allow correcting issue... but I suppose it's because the change lead a new generation of temporary preview files.
The more important I remarked is if I uncheck the "perform non-square pixel rendering" option the shift is permanent.
Solution I found is for all video turned of 90¢X, I put each in a timeline, generate a little video for each of them then include the result in my main timeline, if I do that the shift no more appear.
It takes time, but it works.

1. Insert Image and add moving patch (V1)
2. Create AVI
3. Add avi to Time line (V2)
4. Use Keyboard PgDn and U to cut Image Video
5. Copy All image clip from V2
6. Create New TimeLine and PASTE
7. Add transaction to Imeage Clip
