Final DVD has stroboscope effect on stand-alone DVD-Player

Post by T_Scheen »

Hi,

I've been using MF 3.0 for nearly a year now. Except for a non-official patch provided by Ulead in April 2004 in order to fix an audio-problem when capturing video from an analogue source, everything worked fine so far.
Mid-november, I've installed the other three official patch files. It's only now that I discovered that one of these three patches seems to be buggy.
All of a sudden, the output DVD, when played on a stand-alone DVD-player, shows horrific stroboscope-effects, especially during moving scenes. I always used the same Project-settings which I match to the settings of the mpeg2-clips: Pal 720*576, Video: 9000 kbit/s var. Bitrate, Audio: 256 kbit/s mpeg1 audio, Resample: Best, Interlaced output: On. Do not convert compliant mpeg2.
Since I am pretty sure that it's thanks to the patches that the output is so horrible now, I've de-installed MF and re-installed it without the official three patches. No remedy. :(
Can anybody tell me what to do here...?

Found the error myself. Burning an old project with old mpeg2 clips works.
So I re-encoded a clip from analogue Video8 and now all of a sudden it works. Switched field-order to "upper".
