I am trying MSP 7 trial to see if it will do what I need versus Adobe's Premior Pro.
After using the preview or source window to find where I want to start a clip, I want to move the jog bar position (vertical line in the timeline) to about where the clip should end. The jog bar position does not seem to scroll the timeline to follow the preview current position. Is there a option to turn on to keep the current jog bar position visible on the timeline?
Thanks, Ira
Keep timeline scrolled to current jog bar position?

There are several files on the timeline
Typically, I already have several clips on the timeline and am splitting an existing long clip into multiple smaller clips. In Ulead Visual Studio V9 for example there is a "Timeline scroll control: Enable/Disable scrolling along the Timeline when previewing a clip that extends beyond the current view." I am trying to see if the MSP version has the same functionality.

Other ideas to keep /jog point in the visible timeline?
The audio editors I use always keep the current playback point visible in the timeline. I thought MSP as a "professional" product would have the functionality of the entry level consumer product (Ulead Visual Studio 9). I use the timeline in filmstrip mode to browse the clip quickly. The auto-clip detection doesn't work effectively in most of my trials. I have tried MSP, VS and Adobe Premier Pro, but I usually use Roxio for the actual production of the DVD's after editing with other tools.
This is a 2 GHZ P4 with lots of memory and dedicated ATA133 and SATA drives. So, it seems to keep up with the filmstrip scrolling without a problem.
