I just downloaded the free trial version of ULead VideoStudio 11 and when I tried to open it, I got this error:

"Limit users cannot try this product. YOu can use normally after successful activation."

Why am I getting this error?

Welcome to the forums,

This error can be triggered if it thinks that trial period has expired, and someone is trying to use it again. It is a built in protection for Corel so that people can not just continuing using the trial versions beyond the allowed 30 days. For example if you had downloaded and tried it say 4 months ago, did not purchase it, un-installed it, then now decided you are going to try it again. So you download the trial version and install it. Well somehow it knows that you have previously tried it, so it will not work until you purchase it.

Another example would be if you are using the trial version, and say on the 20th day a person thinks that if they reset the clock on their PC to the day before they installed it, it would give them additional time. Well this safe-guard will trigger, and the time will expire immediately, thus cutting short the trial period.

Sadly for unknown reasons this can also occur before someone gets to try it out. There's nothing that can be done, because Corel does not provide support for trial versions, and they have no way of knowing if you tried to circumvent the trial period, if you had used it for the entire 30 days or it's just a glitch.

The only way around this is, if you have another PC, install it on that one, or re-format your hard drive...:(

Run it from a Windows Administrator Account, you cannot run it as a User Account.

No exactly correct.... You must install from an Administrator account, however you can run it from User accounts. I run mine from a User account setup on my Vista laptop, not the Admin account....

He is talking about the trial version not the full version, unless the error message is relating to an attempt to install the program.
