SYS INFO/BKGND:
Dell Latitude 830 w/100 GB free, 3 GB RAM, Core2 Duo, 2.6GHz, XP Pro/SP3, Maxtor 750 GB w/225 GB free.
VS11+ (11.0.0157.0)
Captured (.avi, DV1, Lower Frame) from Canon GL2 via Firewire
Burning to DVD, 8000 VBR, DV1, Lower Frame

ISSUE:
When trying to burn a test segment to determine output quality, the process stops during Converting Video Of The Title (001/001) at the same place. I have allowed it to run for up to 4 hours. Total output duration is 6 minutes. No menus. Windows Task Mgr shows it "Running." UVS Window shows "Cancel" button active (not greyed out) but clicking does not result in a cancel. Must terminate via Task Mgr.

Been a user since VS7. New head scratcher for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggested solutions.

Are you going straight from your project in the timeline to Share>Create Disc, or are you first creating a video file via Share>Create Video File, then burning? Sometimes problems like yours are fixed with the latter workflow.

Problem Resolved

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the advice. I was burning without first creating an intermediate media file (i.e., I was using Share, Create Disk).

I narrowed down the problem by sequentially eliminating clips from the end of the project towards the beginning. The problem was apparently caused by a clip that was only one frame in duration. (it was supposed to be 46 seconds but somehow I must have fat fingered it).

In any event, once that clip was re-sized to more than one frame (i.e., 46 secs) everything went flawlessly.

Thanks again. Hope this is helpful to others.
