No 5.1 (or similar) sound in WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-Ray

I've downloaded a trial version of WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-Ray, and also PowerDVD, in order to decide which one I'm buying.

In WinDVD I've setup audio device to S/PDIF but it only allows 2.0 sound. I've got a 6.1 Dolby-D, DTS, ... etc... capable received connected to my pc.

I can get 5.1, 6.1, DTS, whatever... sound from many other applications, like PowerDVD, but not from WinDVD.

I was thinking on buying WinDVD because it plays Blu-Rays smoothly that PowerDVD, but direct SPDIF pass-trough is a requirement.

Any thoughts?

I have exactly the same problem and although I bought WinDVD 9 plus it still isn't fixed. When I play DVD's in MCE it works fine on the same PC.

I tried al settings regarding audio but that didn't do anything.

Even if WinDVD9 has better performance playing Blu-Rays (in my system) I will stick with PowerDVD because 5.1 (or +) sound is a must!
