No sound on 3 laptops but sound on DVD player and computer
Three laptops, ASUS, HP and Apple, can play music CDs but not DVD sound captured and authored with dvdmf. Video OK just no sound. The DVD plays properly on my main computer and the home DVD player. Is there something special about laptops and the inability to play DVD ISO image sound?
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire
No. This should be a function of your DVD-player software. Is there something special about laptops and the inability to play DVD ISO image sound?
What DVD-player software are you using? Do commercial DVDs play OK? Is this just a problem when playing ISO files... Do actual burned DVDs work OK?
What format is your audio? PAL DVDs can have LPCM, Dolby (AC3), or MPEG-2 audio. NTSC DVDs can have either LPCM or Dolby. (NTSC players are not required to play MPEG-2 audio).

Thanks for replying Doug. These 2 laptops actually belong to a friend of mine who I did some video to DVD conversion using MF5. I found out yesterday that commercial DVDs do not play sound either, so it is obviously not a problem with MF5. I told him I could no longer help him and said he should do back to the manufacturer, as they were both newish. Thanks for the input.
