I am using the Video Studio Movie Wizard in VS8 to create a slide show. I pick pictures from the library and use the Slideshow style template to get nice transitions. All in all I get a good slideshow.
My problem is that some of the pictures are in portrait format. These pictures gets black borders at the sides. Are there any way I can change the border colour to something that better suits the theme of the slideshow?
I have looked into the Slideshow style template file but is unfortunatley binary encoded.
Best regards
Olof

Border Colors...
Olof,
I am not to sure if this will assist you in any way. When you start VS8, the GUI screen pops up and you get to sides of the prog. The first is Movie Wizard and the second is VS Editor.
If I did not read your post wrong you can try these steps.
1. You enter Movie Wizard first, import your images, rearange them if needed. If you like it, then move on to second part.
2. Click the next button and it leads you to the choose your style template, background music and title of your slide show. If you like it then move on to third part.
3. Click the next button and it leads you to the Create Video File, Create Disc and Edit in Ulead VS Editor GUI Screen. From there, I personally choose "Edit in VS Editor" and it will bring you to a pop message (Your movie will be created as a new project...). I always choose yes to continue on to the Editor side of the program.
4. When your file gets imported you will see it on the time line. You may click any picture that was imported and the picture will be highlighted and to the left of the project screen you will see there are additional properties you can set for the image.
5. To the left there is a radio button that says Pan & Zoom click that and the Customize Pan & Zoom will not be grayed out. Click the icon that looks like a gear and it will lead you to a customization screen.
6. The Pan & Zoom GUI Screen comes about and to the lower right click on the color box or the eye dropper tool you can choose any color.
I hope I read your post correctly and I hope this helps in any way for your slide show.

Thank you Nobie for your advice. It works.
The drawback with this method is that I have to change the background colour for each picture. I would have prefered to adjust the template (or something else) so that I got the same background colour for all pictures in one operation.

I can't say I have ever used this for the purpose you are seeking, but in the first page of Preferences, second item down is 'Background Color' which allows you to choose a background colour. As I say, though, I don't know if this new colour then goes into the slideshow. Is there another possibility: putting a solid colour panel into the overlay track and stretching it for the entire length of the slideshow? That way, the colour would not appear in the landscape mode photos, but would frame the portrait frame ones.
