thumbnails don't show

Post by kaygreenhaw »

I'm using a gallery menu but only half of my chapter thumbnails show up. I've tried changing the thumbnail location in the movie. I've installed the patch 2. I've re-installed both the whole program and the patch. I've started the project over from importing the movie. I'm sitting on hold with phone support now....going on 20 min. HELP!

I hope you're still not on hold, that could be a very expensive phone bill

Half of how many thumbnails? I think you're allowed up to 9 thumbnails per Chapter menu page, unless you use PhotoImpact to edit or create some menus from scratch.

Have you also tried customize the Layout? Click on the Edit tab, then Customize. At the bottom of the Customize dialog window is a drop-down menu, where you can customize the Frames, Buttons, and Layout. Scroll through the Layout choices and find one that has 8 or 9 thumbnail frames. This will reduce the number of Chapter Menu pages..

gave up-moved on

Post by kaygreenhaw »

Okay, the nice folks at the expensive help desk solved one problem but created another. The whole reason I chose this product was because it imported my Camtasia produced screenshot videos and made them into a DVD movie that showed completely on the screen. All seven of the other editing packages converted the AVIs from Camtasia to MPEG2 before making the movie and that somehow made all my screen shots too big for the regular TV screen 4;3. NO TOP OR BOTTOM TO MY MOVIES. The help guy's answer was to convert my movie to MPEG2 before I put in the chapter markers. He promised this is what happens when the movie is rendered anyway and the movies would be the same....It worked and I got the thumbnails to show on my menu and I was a happy camper until I burned the DVD and looked at it and I was back to square one. No tops or bottoms on my movies.

I gave up and went back to the chapter names only on the chapter menus and the Unconverted movie to start with. This works fine. Not what I wanted, but works.

I produce this product every summer. This is my first time to do it on DVD. Before I've just distributed the Flash movies on CD for use in the computers. I'd love to solve the problem for next year, but for now, it's "in the can".
