Hello,

I'm new to VS and I am trying my first project with a slideshow (images / text / video).
I found on the forum that I have to set the field order to "upper field first" to get better quality.

My images a high resolution images that are displayed very sharp and clear on the edit-screen.
The titles also are very scharp.

BUT

when previewing the project, the output is "blurred".
I try to change the preferences to "high-quality playback", but then I get a warning that High-quality playback mode is disabled with current project settings.

Can someone help me ?

Thanks !

Field order is determined by the source and method of capture.
Generally speaking
Digital sources are lower field first
Analogue sources are upper field first
Digital Pictures (i.e. photographs) and scanned or drawn material is frame based.
With the still images you also need to apply the anti-flicker option.

The preview window is what it says a preview - when you actually create a video file or DVD they finished item will be in far superior detail.

File -> Preferences -> Edit tab : Make sure resampling quality is set to best.

When you create you file (render), click the options when you are asked to give the filename. In the compression tab, make sure the quality slider is set to 100.

This will be slower to render but will be with highest quality.

You can always do a two-pass encode for even better quality when using VBR (I always do that).

As sjj1805 said, do no judge the quality using the preview screen, it is just a preview. You need to verify the quality using the final rendered file.

While not disagreeing with any of the foregoing, you have not filled in your Profile button, so we have not idea what sort of computer you are using. But if it is not a particularly powerful model. you need also to be aware that some people with such computers have had problems when they set the quality slider to 100. The computer simply cannot handle it. So at some stage, we need to know about your computer, and the easiest way to always have such details on hand is to fill in the Profile/System button details.
