PhotoImpact 8

Post by cwellin »

Has anyone had this same problem. I updated the latest patch for Photoimpact 8. After the update, if I click on either Web Background designer or Web Component designer I receive an error. Both do not open.

Each time I have to re-install PhotoImpact 8(upgrade version) and re-install the first patch after the initial release and it works.

Tried tech support and they were no help. I am spending the winter in Arizona and did not bring my full version CD to be more specific on the error to I duplicate the problem.

Just thought someone may have experienced the same problem.

I did the update and now the component designer closes when i click to use it.. seriously frustrating, I even put the disk in to undo the changes and nothing has worked at all.

PhotoImpact 8 Patch

Post by cwellin »

As I stated, I never received an answer from Tech support that resolved the problem. They told me to remove and re-intall the software and apply the most current patch. That did not work!

It's obvious their product are going down hill. Based on the postings on PhotoImpact 10, I'd never upgrade.

I downloaded a trial version of Cool 3D objects. The first time I closed the program I received a memory fault.

Ulead used to have good products for a fair price.

Yeah, well uninstalling and reinstalling does NOT help in the least. Why someone would say to do that after we said we had is beyond me. :?

I'm in a mess. Have PhotoImpact8 and cannot figure out how to make a CD of the slide show. What good is the program if I can't make a CD? How do you share the slideshow? FAQs did not answer my question. I made this show in JULY 2004 and have never been able to copy it for anyone else. Please help!!!

I was heart from Ulead that some MSN Messanger Plug-in like MSN Shell will conflict with some Ulead products and cause crash problems. Maybe you can check if there is something like that installed in your system.

As for the slide-show, you should be able to use PhotoExplorer or PhotoImpact Album that both included in PhotoImpact to create it. I use PhotoImpact 10 and PhotoExplorer 8.5, but I think the steps should be similar.

In PhotoExplorer, you can create a slide-show by selecting Tool->Slide-Show and add some pictures into the Slide-Show Area, then select Tool->Burn TV Slide-Show or Tool->Burn PC Slide-Show to burn it.

In PhotoImpact Album, you can select the album you wish to share, then select Album->Package to disc.

Hope this helps.

I was having a lot of problems with PI8 also. It was an upgrade from PI6, so I figured I would start fresh witha full version of PI10.

I can say that I have had far less problems and errors with 10 then 8. I think it was worth the buy.

I finally got it to transfer to the CD instead of just setting up a duplicate show in the main program. However, isn't there a generic way of viewing the show if the person you're sharing the show with does not have ULead? I put the CD on another computer to view, but couldn't open it. I thought you could share the show with "anyone". Yes or No???

If you have all of the images stored on the cd you have two options.

If you have Microsoft Picture Viewer, select all of the pictures in the folder, right click one of the images , select "open with" and choose Microsoft Picture Viewer. This will produce a slideshow.

You can also just select all of the images in the folder and then use the "slide show" icon style.
