Long start up time for MSP 8

When starting up MediaStudio Pro 8 and the Video Editor starts, it gets to the "Initialising APS filters" very quickly and gets to 85% but then takes 15 minutes to complete the startup process (ie it sits at 85% for 15 minutes) before I can start doing anything. Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

You've got a rogue DirectX filter on your system. When I was having this issue with MSP7 it turned out to be one of the kids' games causing the problem. Uninstalling the game and slapping the kid fixed it.

Thanks for the reply. This particular computer doesn't have/run games but I would like to track down any rogue DirectX filter if that's what it is. How would I do that?
