Sorry, I thought I posted this question.

When I'm working with the timeline, sometimes a red line appears on the timeline. It usually runs from the first clip to the end of the project. If I add new frames and want to review those newly added frames, the program automaticly goes back to the beginning of the red timeline.

I believe the redline is for croping or saving a portion of the movie which I really do not want to do. Would you be so kind as to tell me what I am doing wrong to bring up this line and what I need to do to remove it?

The red line signified the selected range known as a preview range.
Useful for playback purposes if you want to check a certain area rather than the entire video.

I do this accidentally from time to time. You apparently are hitting the Mark In/Mark Out buttons while trying to edit a clip, but you are in Project Mode.

To remove the red line (you must be in Project Mode) go to the beginning of your movie and click on the Mark In button. Go to the end of you move and click the Mark Out button.
