Hi, I've received DVDMovieFactory 5.6 SE. This software came with my Canon HG10.
I've seen this board: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=31722 and have gotten this update: http://www.ulead.com.tw/Ulead/Survey/ca ... pg=6&fs=us , however they don't seem to help my problem.
I've been trying to edit video clips of various sizes (some larger than 2 GB, others around 100 or 200 MB) in NTSC & DVD 4.7 G. These clips where MTS files converted to MPEG TS files by Corel GuideMenu. They play fine when I use Windows Media Player Classic (though the pictures are a bit ... wavy) and perfectly when played by InterVideo WinDVD SE. Moreover, they play to THEIR FULL LENGTH.
However, when I try to import them to MovieFactory, a clip that was supposed to be 1 minute and 58 seconds long plays only the beginning for 5 seconds, though the timer says 1:58. The same goes for every clip; MovieFactory only plays a bit of it (the bit it plays is longer/shorter proportional to the clip's full length) and claims that it played the clip to the full length.
At first I thought this was intentional, as the rest of the video showed up in the 'Multi-Trim Video' menu (though they did not play). However when I tried to trim the video, choosing a part of the clip that MovieFactory refused to play, and clicked the play button, it skips back to the bit that it played before, though I had not chose that bit to be trimmed.
I've tried to 'Recover Possible Lost AV Data', but MovieFactory always freezes up on me when I choose that option. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I'm at the end of my rope; please help!
Here's one of the shorter clips: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bj6hjm . If anyone can download that, play it on their copy of MovieFactory, and see if it works on THEIRS, it'd be a great help.
Please and thank you!
DVDMF 5.6 SE: Plays only first few minutes/seconds of clips
Re: DVDMF 5.6 SE: Plays only first few minutes/seconds of cl
The fact that you are able to play these clips in Windows Media player implies you have something like ffdshow installed (Windows Media player won't play the m2ts files from the HG10 natively). I have had horrible problems with ffdshow and MF6. In particular the problems seems to be with the Haali media splitter that ffdshow requires. If it is installed, it simply messes up MF playback. The videos played back and worked fine in MF6 for me, then I installed ffdshow because I wanted to be able to play back the videos in WMP. However as soon as I did that I experienced the exact same problem you are facing: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... highlight=Inggrid wrote:They play fine when I use Windows Media Player Classic

After uninstalling ffdshow and Haali, everything started working normal again. Although I can now longer play them back in WMP. I unfortunately have not been able to come up with a solution for this yet.
