I've just been offered a rather attractive upgrade price for UVS11.5. There are 2 options, UVS11.5 full or UVS11.5 upgrade. I just want to make sure that it will upgrade from 10.0 as I'd hate to buy it and find that it will only upgrade from 11.0.

Where did the offer come from? It may be so attractive because v12 is on the horizon. It was released in Japan in the spring and we have been patiently awaiting its arrival everywhere else, so you may want to hold onto your money.

And here in the wintry southern hemisphere, we are starting to think it may not be released until *our* Spring!!!

But as for the question, first, you need to be careful as already suggested. In the past week we have had two users who bought from Amazon.com who have had difficulties with the VS packages they bought. One can't even get the discs to be recognised by their computer.
That being said, if the special price is the same for both, then I would buy the full version. If not, and you already have VS 10 and its serial number, then the upgrade version is the full version, not just added bits and pieces. But you need the serial number of an earlier version before it will install.
And finally, you won't get VS11.5 out of the box with either version, as far as I am aware. What you get in the box is VS11+, and you have to download and install two free updates (6 and 8 November 2007) from the Ulead.com or Corel websites for the full upgrade. You will first need to register your VS11+ with Corel before you can access the 8 November 'Power Pack'.

Ken, like you I am in Aus, just a bit further south. The offer was from Corel, so I see no problem with that. Now that I've looked into it further, I see that I am being sucked in by the unfair selling practices that are used by many companies. I had a web page telling me that I could have the full 11.5 for AUD$44 including GST and the upgrade for $26. What I've now found out is that these are the US prices converted to AUD. The store wont sell them so me at an Australian address. The price that they will sell to me is AUD$199 for the full and the upgrade for AUD$99. As its for my 13 year old son and 10 does most of what he wants, it just went from the pocket change price to one I have to think about. I find it very discriminatory to sell product here in Aus for 4 times the US price.

Im in Australia and I got an email direct from Corel to offer me an upgrade to vs11.5+ for AUD99. Im thinking about it. I dont like to go to an upgrade soon after release - like to wait for some service packs etc first.
Im interested in peoples stability experiences. With Vs8 and vs9 I had quite a few hangs and fails on rendering which made it painful. With vs10+ I get very few hangs and errors. Would some like to suggest that they find vs11.5+ even more stable than vs10+?
