Hi:
I have just installed Ulead plus 11.5 on my computer. When I try to run the program it says:
the screen resolution is to small to play the video
the screen resolution must be set to at least 1024 x 768.
I have tried to change the resolution but my monitor's ( Samsung 17" wide TFT-LCD ) resolution goes up to 1280 x 720.
is there any way to fix this problem?
thx

A samsung 17" TFD will allow a smaller resolution than that.
If you right click on your desktop and select "Properties" and then go to the "Settings" tab you should see a range of available resolutions.
You need to select one where the width is at least 1024 and the height is at least 768.

If for any reason you do not see resolutions of or above this then you have not installed the correct drivers for your video card.

I've looked up several Samsung 17" widescreen monitors and they all go up to 1280x768. That having been said, editing video on a 768 px high screen of those dimensions will not be a great pleasure. I would say the minimum for comfortable work would be 19" 4:3 ratio at 1280x1024.

For my desktop I use a Dell 19" widescreen, which only allows the following:
800 x 600
1024 x 768
1152 x 864
1440 x 900

The last one is the only one that does not distort the display. All others the display is stretched.

My Compaq laptop also has a few strange resolution settings, however it too allows for the 1024 x 768 setting. Then my old desktop monitor (HP) was a 17" TFT, and it also would allow the 1024 x 768. So I would think that Samsung monitors would have that resolution, and higher..
