SLOW sluggish SOFT (?) output files

I have also tried this on a fairly recent build laptop on xp pro service pack 2 and it also fails but this time quite a way into the project. It created just over 7GB of tghe new mpeg file before crashing and closing down.

The fresh inistall of Vista made no difference either on my main PC.
