To access the options for WM9 Encoder Series, you need to;
1. Choose Custom from the Share>Create Video File Menu
2. In the Save As dialog that opens, click the drop-down menu select WMV as the File Type.
3. Press the Options button.
4. In the Options dialog window, go to the Profiles tab.
5. On the Profiles tab, press the drop-down menu for Profiles.

Now after doing that you find a Profile that is close, but is not exactly what you want. So you can create your own, by;
1. Pressing the Customize button found tat the bottom of the Profiles tab.

2.In the Managing Profiles dialog window that opens, scroll through all the presets to see if there is one that fits what you're looking for or similar.

3. Not finding one that fits, you will highlight one that is similar, and then press the Copy or Edit button. (If you choose Edit you will still need to save your edited version under new name.)

4. Selecting Copy, you will be prompted for a name to save the profile that you want to create. Say you chose the Neptune_BestQuality, so just renaming it to something like MY_Neptune_BestQuality would work.

5.Now you need to Edit your new profile. So press the Edit button, and proceed through all the settings customizing them to fit what you need.

Once that is done, your created profile will be available in the Profiles drop-down menu on the Profiles tab. You will need to select the Custom option from the Share>Create Video File step to access your profile though..

the thing is the media encoder 9 options aren't visible in the profiles when i try and create a custom .wmv file. i see only windows media 8 options. i'm trying to figure why they aren't showing in Video Studio. i was able to access the media player 9 codecs with other software but not VS11
