Using Video Studio 8 templates in Video Studio 9

Post by secookie »

I hope this hasn't been asked before but if it has I apologise.

I've just downloaded version 9 of video studio and have found that one of the templates (the school one with the board rubber) from version 8 is no longer included.

Is it possible to copy the version 8 tempates over?

If so, how do I go about doing it.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

It works with Movie Factory, so I imagine it might work with Video Studio also. Just find the template directories of both programs and copy the ufo file for the template you want to VS9 in the correct folder. You might have to rename it if the number is already being used. (First copy to another folder, rename, then move to the VS9 folder.) If it shows up when you open the program, it worked. If not, then maybe they made changes in VS9 that make the templates incompatible.

UVS 9 has two template directories, one for 4:3 menus, and one for 16:9 menus. The UFO files need to go into the 4:3 directory, or you'll wind up with distorted and partially off-screen menus. Provided you do this, the UVS 8 menu templates will be usable in UVS 9.

Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, the suggestions haven't helped greatly - mainly because I think I explained what I was after wrong !!

The template is one that is used in the Movie Wizard - I think it's called the theme template. The ones where you specify the them and wizard puts the intro and ending on, the music and the overlays.

These don't seem to be the ufo files (although I may be wrong).

Many thanks again for your help
