Video Studio 7 SE Basic - won't play MP4
I received a copy of Video Studio 7 SE Basic with an Olympus C770 digital camera I purchased. One of the selling points with the camera was it came with this software, but it doesn't seem to recognise MP4 files created with the camera. Any tips / hints on what I need to do.

Sounds like a cynical or dumb marketing exercise by Olympus. Your only option may be to use the edition you have to get a discount on upgrading to VS8, and then purchase the mpeg-4 plugin. That's the only way you will be able to work with mpeg-4 files.

Hi,
I have a similar issue. VS7 SE Basic will allow me to drag and drop the mpeg4 files from my Olympus C770 into the project but when I try to render it during under the share tab it crashes near the end of the first clip. However I have no problems with the much larger Quicktime files from the same camera.
Is this the same issue you experienced ?
I already installed the patch to v7.01 but to no effect.
