Photo Explorer-Ulead 8.5 Auto Rename Problem

I getting an error message containing %$ when I use the auto rename.
It only happens after I've dragged photos around to re-organize them and then try to rename/renumber.
It then renames my files with a ~ line and the program won't let me out...and it's a huge headache!

Have you checked in your Preferences Settings to see what you have set for the following:

Thanks for your reply....but I already have this unchecked...do you have any other suggestions? I must find a way to renumber/rename photos after being able to move them around and sort them.
