overlay tracks and effects - not possible?

Have I found something that VS11 doesn't do? I've been trying to add a FLAP B effect between two video tracks on the overlay track, and I can't do it. All I get is a Round Circle icon that I presume means it wont let me add the effect. Will VS11 add effect between overlay video and/or image tracks?

Nope, and that's been a big thorn in our you-know-whats since the overlay tracks were introduced. From what we can gather from the Japanese version this feature will be available in v12, but when that is released to the rest of the world is anyone's guess.
