Major crash with VS9-every time

When I go to import a dvd, the software recognizes the disc but when I hit either chapter or title in the pop-up window, everything freezes. It even freezes my whole computer. I can't even shut down properly.
Am I in need of a patch?
Help!

Have you installed any of the Update Packs for VS9? If not you can download them from the following link:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp_90.htm
Go
HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated June 2008.
