Quick Help - DVD-RAM

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys

I just popped into a store to pick up a DVD and the guy gave me a DVD-RAM. I use an NEC RW ND-1300A to burn (speed 1x-4x). Is it safe to use the DVD-RAM (and what's the difference?) I usually use DVD-R or RW.

Regards.

I don't think so...

I don't think it will work for in your drive. Did the salesperson tell you it would work?

Hi George

Thanks for your quick response. The sales person said it would work (but I wasn't overly confident with what he said). Could it banjax the drive if I try it (and do you know what the difference between a DVD RAM and a normal one?)

regards & thanks again.

No, it'll just reject the media. Your drive only handles +/-R and +/-RW media, as do most burners these days -- see THIS page for details.

Return the media, and find a more knowledgeable salesperson and/or store.
