Video Capture error

Hi guys, i'm new to this forum. just had a question about my video capture on Ulead VS+. i have used it extensively but recently ran into an error saying that it is unable to switch to capture mode and tells me to "check to see if the video capture driver is working properly."(error 15023:4:2) I think this came about since I recently also added Pinnacle Video 10 for analog capture from my VCR. Did this disable a driver and if it did do any of you know how to reload that driver. I have removed Pinnacle and reloaded UVS without luck.
Please help,
Zack

It could have replaced the VS11 driver. In order to over-right that with VS's, you would need to reinstall VS after installing Pinnacle.
Are you trying to use a Pinnacle device to capture with VS? If so VS does not seem to like them, and Pinnacle does not divulge their secrets on their devices. This makes the device proprietary to Pinnacle, and nearly impossible to use with other applications.

I'm having a similar problem. Can someone suggest a good compatible capture device with VS 11+? It would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Does anyone know if the Diamond VC500One touch works well with VS 11+? Here's a link, but it says nothing of what it's compatible with.....

***EDIT***
After further READING the specs, it actually lists ULead Videostudio SE as the software its bundled with, so is it safe to assume that if you only install the hardware drivers and NOT the SE software, that it'll work with 11.5 Plus?

Hopefully, someone who actually has a Diamond device will respond more specifically. It could be that the VC500 will work with VS11/11.5+, but that will indeed require someone who captures with it using VS11/11.5+ to confirm it. Just because it comes bundled with an SE (Special Edition) of Video Studio does not, however, guarantee it. Some hardware manufacturers tweak software like VS to work with their device, but they don't share the secret with the software maker. So it is also possible that the version of VS SE distributed with the VC500 is the only version that will work with it.
However, the bottom line, if later versions will not in fact work with it, then if you are not using Vista (which versions of VS earlier than VS10 will not work properly with), you could capture using the earlier version and open the captured files in VS11+ for editing. Many of us here use various programs for different parts of the editing process. I for instance use WinDV to capture from my DV cameras, and HDVSplit to capture my HDV, even though VS11/11.5+ can do both as well. It's just that I think the other programs do it better.

Well, I just invested $40 in the Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device from Amazon, so I'll give an update as soon as I get it.
The problem I had was that I used the Pinnacle Dazzle Platinum device before, but I hated their Studio software, Once I bought VS 11+ and fell in love with it, I tried to capture from VHS using the Pinnacle software because VS 11+ wouldn't recognize the Dazzle device. The picture looked fine, but the sound had loud static and interference that I could not pinpoint how to get rid of. All of my drivers are updated, and the problem never happened until I installed VS 11+ on the same PC that housed Pinnacle Studio.
I will now uninstall everything Pinnacle, and hope that this Diamond VC device does the trick, and then of course, do all of my editing and authoring will be done exclusively in VS 11+.
BTW, I have XP SP2 on my desktop and laptop. I'm trying to stay as far away from Vista, for as long as I can!
