Load MPEG vio Driver Error - DVDMF.ini

Post by dollnut »

I am having another issue with DVD MovieFactory 5.0. I have had a sound problem when previewing video in this software (no sound). There still has not been an acceptable solution found so far. I tried removing 5.0 and loading the trial version of 6.0 but that software doesn't even support my camera files!! So, I uninstalled the 6.0 and reinstalled the 5.0 software. Now I get the following error message:
Load MPEG vio Driver Error - (path listed beforehand) DVDMF.ini
I have tried several times to uninstall and install the software. I also tried repairing the software but nothing is working. I have already installed the Sanyo 10 in 1 patch about 3 or 4 times. It still does not work. HELP!! At least having the software work with no sound is better than nothing.

I guess I am an idiot then because I have read this before but have no idea what they are telling me to do to fix it.

Searching the Corel Knowledge base I find they list a common cause to be having Adobe Premiere 6 installed. They issued patches for MSP, PhotoExplorer, and DVD Workshop. However I find nothing referring to DVDMF.

You're version of DVDMF5 was provided with your camcorder from Sanyo correct? I'm not sure if it installs the same as the versions from Ulead/Corel however they install a folder found under C:\Program Files\Common Files. I've had problems with the MPEG files found in the MPEG folder under the ~Common File\Ulead Systems folder.

When installing more than 1 Ulead program, some of those files may be replaced. With my problem I've had to manually delete or rename the MPEG folder, then reinstall the program, so that the MPEG folder could be replaced.

So what I'm suggesting is to first back-up the MPEG folder (found at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems). Then delete it, rename it or just move it elsewhere on your system. Then re-install the program.

Thanks for the info. I was so frustrated that I removed the software again and reloaded it one more time and now it is working. I also copied the DVDMF.INI file to the Program files before I uninstalled it. Whatever I did worked because now it is working (even though I still have no preview sound). I still have no idea how to fix that issue. Thanks for researching it for me though. I really appreciate your help.
