How to add an effect to all the videos at once

Post by BasketballFan »

Hello I am an sports video editor. I do this as a hobby.

I was wondering if there was a way to edit all the clips at once (mute, effects, etc.)

That would save me a lot of time.

Thanks again for the help. :D

Welcome to the forums!

I am sorry, but no -- no easy way out, I am afraid. But then again, whoever said that video editing was meant to be easy???

The only things that you can set to affect a whole project in the time timeline are set in File > Preferences > Edit. You can choose a default transition, and also set the default times that images remain on screen in a slideshow, or how long transitions last. You can also set how long audio fade ins and fade outs last. But that's just about it, I am afraid.

As I said, automatically, you set it in File > Preferences > Edit.

There is a method. Create your project file with the desired clips and transitions. Save it (no need to render it), close en create a new project. Now import the first project file. VS handles this as a single clip. So you can mute it and apply a single video-effect.
