Hi:

When I am editing a video cutting clips that I want to keep and discard others, is there a way to mark the clips that I want to keep so that at the end of all of the clipping I know which of the clips I wanted to use in the final video? To be clear say I chop a large video into 50 clips, can I mark some of these clips during to cut process to remind me to use this particular cut clip?

Regards,

As of the current version the only way to do it is to actually rename the thumbnail clip. I sometimes just rename it "X" so I know it has already been used.

Hopefully the much anticipated v12 will address this issue.

or do what I do when editing a long video..

With my work-around I only have one file in the library. But I have a mini DV video camera.

With the long single video file in the library...instead of splitting all the video sections I select the scene I want using the handle bars under the preview pane.

Once I have selected the part I want I just drag that representation into the time line

I only using one thumbnail in the library
