No Audio When Previewing in MovieFactory 5.0
I purchased a Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1A camera a little over a year ago. We loaded the Ulead software (Photo Explorer 8.5 and MovieFactory 5.0) onto a desktop computer with Windows XP operating system. The software has always worked great. I recently purchased an HP Compaq Presario C769US Notebook with Windows Vista as the operating system. I downloaded the same software that we loaded on the desktop. I loaded the 10 in 1 patch from the Sanyo website and the Photo Explorer 8.5 works great. I get audio when I preview videos in Photo Explorer when when I preview videos in MovieFactory, I get no audio. I have tried updating the drivers, changing setting, but nothing works. I tried downloading the trial version of MovieFactory 6.0 Plus but I get no sound on that version either. I have been trying to find a solution for almost 2 weeks but cannot find any postings on this subject. Ulead support will not help me because the software came with my camera. I have tried the support at Sanyo as well but got no answer. I have googled myself half to-death and am quite weary of my problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Welcome to the forums,
I would suspect that the audio is Dolby Digital, and that since your version of MovieFactory came bundled with your camera it does not have the Dolby audio codec. Dolby charges a fee, and not many, if any at all are going to give that away for free since they (Ulead, Corel, and Sanyo) would have to pay for it..
Check the audio properties of one of the video clips to see if it is in fact using Dolby..

How do I find the audio properties of the video clips? I am not very savvy about alot of the technology.
