Hollywood FX
Moderator: Ken Berry
Thanks sjj1805, I did a reinstall but still the same, I have Pinnacle Hollywood FX plus 4.5 for pinnicle studio version 7.
Is there another version of FX that I should be looking for, when I say a stand alone programme, I have yet to load video into it and make a transition, look like it needs to be within an editing application.
I will play with for a bit longer, then its an uninstall and back into the cupboard.

Whilst it works perfectly on my XP systems I have discovered that I also get the "Unable to start license tool program" error when attempting to use it with Vista. I think it is most likely that Hollywood FX 4.5 Gold is not compatible with Vista.

Thanks Steve, will get on to this, at the moment I am trying to run on a laptop under XP Pro, this has a Sempron(tm) Processor 3400+ and DirectX 9.0c.
I havent tried it on the my desktop, XP home service pack2, athlon 2k processor, this will be my next move.
I am half convinced that FX is looking for something from pinacle studio7, aaargh......

I so used to use the "p" app and so despise it to this day, that I am glad that you can zap that part of their app into use into Ulead. Hi Five bud!sjj1805 wrote:All I did was to install Hollywood FX 4.5 with its normal installer which as you said creates a stand alone program.
It's a long sorry story.. ahem

You can take a look at these two links, I know Boris Factory 1.0 and also the Burger transitions work great on Vista but haven't tried any of the others.
