I am using VS11+ and am having a problem with audio added to a project. The audio track from the video clip I am using (MPEG-2 with LPCM Stereo Audio) does NOT have a problem. It plays clean, but it is not the audio I want to use with my final output.
I have tried using alternate audio in the following formats (all play clean outside of VS 11+) - WAV, MP3, MP4. All have the same results. The audio is what I would best describe as 'scratchy', with random noise throughout the track on playback. Interestingly enough, if I split the audio from the video track, the split audio exhibits the same problem even though it played clean as combined audio/video!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks

Updated Info on problem
The problem only appears to happen after I switch to the Audio view. If I open the project and just play it without going to the audio view, it plays clean. I am trying to burn a test DVD to make sure the output to DVD has clean audio also.....
This is a workaround, but will limit the usability of the program if I cannot switch to the audio view for future projects....

While not having the identical problem as you, some users have reported similar problems, and have found that moving the audio level up or down one point from its current setting often helps.
Also, what program have you used to do the alternative audio? It sounds (no pun intended) like audio clipping could be involved. So if you are using a third part audio editing program, you might have its volume too high. Usually they will show a graphical depiction of the audio waves, and if there are very high points, the volume may need to be dropped a little.
