Splitting Mono Audio Over R AND L Speakers.

Post by Mark Out »

I recently captured from an old VHS camcorder via RCA cables, but the camera only has yellow and white connections (Yellow=Video; White=Audio (one speaker only though)).

Because I'm only capturing one audio feed (with a decidely naff USB/analog device), playback of my VS11 projects in a DVD player only has audio output out of one of my stereo TV speakers. The other speaker is just silent. Is there a way to split the audio in VS11 so it becomes stereo?

With the video in the timeline and selected/highlighted, select Audio, then the Attribute tab on what appears. Then to the bottom right of the preview screen you will see the little digital clock and below it the volume control, Below that, though, is a box, empty by default, with the words 'Dupicate Audio Channel' beside it. When you tick the box, you will then be able to choose which channel you want to duplicate. You of course will only have one choice!

I stress again, though, that the video has to be highlighted for this to be active.
