PROBLEM
As the subject says I'm having issues with audio being out of sync. The audio slowly drifts. It's fine in the original file.
The video becomes really jittery whenever the camera pans or there is much movement on screen. Which leads me to believe it's a compression issue, but I can't figure out what settings to change.
Any help would be appreciated. I have about 2 weeks before my 30 day guarantee expires.
BACK STORY:
I had this problem using Roxio as well, their tech support were unable to help. I went through nearly 40 DVD-rs trying to test the different solutions. Needless to say I'm coming into this product with a big chip on my shoulder. I'll try to give all the necessary info.
I would contact tech support directly, but every time I click ask tech support button, the browser bounces back and forth between two web pages repeatedly. It does the same thing when I try to access the "my stuff" section as well. If any official Ulead personel is reading this, you should fix the problem.
I capture and edit using Premier pro 1.5. The original source is mini-dv
file type: microsoft Dv AVI
compressor : DV NTSC
Frame size : 720 X 480
frame rate : 29.97fps
pixel aspect ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9)
Quality: 100%
Data rate: recompress to maintain data rate
render using lower field
Audio uncompressed

interleave 1 frame
I then bring the file into Ulead moviefactory 6 plus

DV/AVI is usually fairly foolproof... (Sync problems are somewhat common with the more-compressed formats, and it happened to me when I was editing MPEGs). Usually there is something "wrong" with the original file that causes the audio/video to go out of sync during recoding. Have you tried a different file from a different miniDV tape?...I capture and edit using Premier pro 1.5. The original source is mini-dv
file type: microsoft Dv AVI...
I don't think this is the problem, but your audio format looks strange... It should be 48kHz 16-bit stereo, or 32kHz, 12-bit, 4-channel. It will have to be converted to 48kHz for the DVD, and either Premier or Movie Factory should be able to convert it. (That would be set by the camera during recording.)Audio uncompressed
32000 Hz
16 bit
Stereo
Just to confirm, you are capturing to DV/AVI (via Firewire?), editing that format with Premier, and sending the edited DV/AVI file to Movie Factory?
If that's not working, I assume Premier can save the file as DVD-compliant MPEG-2 (with compliant audio). If you do it that way, and if you again select Do Not Convert Compliant MPEGs, Movie Factory shouldn't do anything to mess-up the sync.
The two problems might be related, or the jitter might be caused by a "field order" problem... But, if you can't get the sync fixed, there's not much point in working on the jitter...The video becomes really jittery whenever the camera pans or there is much movement on screen. Which leads me to believe it's a compression issue, but I can't figure out what settings to change.
You'll probably get better support here anyway. Corel/Ulead may monitor these forums, but they never respond directly here.I would contact tech support directly, but every time I click ask tech support button, the browser bounces back and forth between two web pages repeatedly.
