VideoStudio 8 SE disconnect

Post by mk_vr »

Hi All,

I've a problem with VideoStudio 8SE bought in bundle with a Hamlet Firewire 400 PCI card. I'm using for capture the video froma a Samnsug D375W digital Cam.

I had installed the firewire card without problem, I installed the software VS8 SE without problem.

When I start the program it recognized my digitalCam, so I click to capture... but after 3, 5... or 10 minutes (random) the software disconnetc from cam, and the capture screen is black.

I closed every program (screen saver, spyboot, antivirus...)

My PC is a Acer Veriton VT7200D (p4 1,8Ghz) 1Gbyte my graphics card is a ATI RADEON9600 Series)

What's the problem??? Have you any ideas???

Many thanks
Marco

Are you capturing to dv.avi or some other format?
Do you have LOTS of free hard drive space? You will need about 13gig for an hour of dv.avi if that is what you are capturing to.

Can we assume you are running XP on your computer? If instead you are running Vista (though I doubt it with those computer specifications), then VS8 is not Vista compatible.

This screen shot is taken from another post.
Look at the bit above the red outlined area - have you placed anything in the "Duration" field?
