Creating Main Menu

Post by katekenn »

I am trying out the trial version of VideoStudio 11 and am trying to create a Main Menu on the DVD.

I have several video clips from different episodes of a television show to burn to a DVD that will last approx 30 minutes.

Each episode on this disc will have about 3-4 scenes. How can I create a Main Menu that will allow the viewer to click to a particular episode?

Welcome
I suggest that you create a SEPARATE PROJECT for each episode you have. That could be one or more video clips (I don't know if each episode you captured is a single clip or not). Create a video file from each project (episode). You then have SEPARATE VIDEO FILES (using SHARE > CREATE VIDEO FILE) one for each episode.
You then author your DVD (CREATE DVD) by clicking on ADD MEDIA/VIDEO FILE ensuring that CREATE MENU is 'ticked'. This will then automatically produce a menu where the viewer has the option of selecting which episode to watch.
You also have the option of whether you want the menu to display after the episode has finished or automatically continuing to play the following episode(s) in the PROJECT SETTINGS.
There is another method to achieve what you want with a SINGLE VIDEO FILE containing all the episodes but that is more complex for a 'first timer'.

I suggest that you read Steve's excellent tutorial on this at http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 9591#69591
